PROJECT DESCRIPTION
"We have three weeks until this premieres."
"Easy."
Drake Cook approached me about helping out on the new snow movie from Quiksilver. Upon examining the design and direction he had already established for the movie, I knew it would be a walk in the park. It really shows how fast you can create when you have an established design direction, leaving you knowing where to bend and break the rules.
Sam Sosnowski's direction of the film heavily emphasized the soul of snowboarding, attempting to extract that feeling of hanging out with your best friends while pushing the limits of the sport with purposeful style. That kind of magic is hard to capture, but three weeks later, and with 1.7 million views (and still growing), it's safe to say he found something special in the backcountry.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
First and foremost, thank you to Quiksilver for bringing me onto this project. It was an unreal opportunity to create some of the most prolific work to date. Big thanks to Drake Cook for making all of this happen.
I had the privilege of helping Drake secure a job as we graduated from college, and recently, he returned the favor by enabling me to join this dream job — motion design for a core surf company. Life has an interesting way of coming full circle.
Earlier this year, I faced a creative crisis, feeling adrift in my design pursuits. I took a break, stepping away from work for two months, lacking inspiration. It marked a career low. However, this job unexpectedly came my way. The allure of something greater was undeniable. I felt no control over the situation but sensed I was destined to be part of it.
Every exploration, simulation, test, etc., seamlessly clicked into place. This job was a rare instance where everything fell into a harmonious flow, without resistance. It was surreal. Tears of joy welled up, as if I was destined for this role. Chicken skin and tingles accompanied every new animation sequence.
Reflecting on it now, perfection eludes us, and there are aspects I'd tweak. Nevertheless, this job served as a lifeline, pulling me out of a substantial creative rut, and possibly an even more extensive personal one.
So, thank you.
Nature knows best.
Love, Trevor
